We have an opportunity for a Technical Services Manager to join our site leadership team at South Walker Creek Mine. This role plays a critical part in setting the mine up for success through safe, efficient and well-executed mine planning and technical services.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing multidisciplinary technical teams across mine planning, survey, geology and geotechnical
  • Delivering and optimising mine plans across short, medium and long-term horizons
  • Ensuring safe and efficient mine design and execution aligned to budget and business objectives
  • Managing geotechnical and operational risks, including governance of key controls
  • Providing clear forecasts, plans and insights to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation in planning systems, processes and performance
  • Building strong relationships with operations and key stakeholders across site

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership experience in large, multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Extensive open-cut coal mining experience, including scheduling and planning
  • Strong understanding of mine planning value drivers (e.g. optimisation, blending, constraint management)
  • Ability to integrate multiple workstreams across planning, resources and operations
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Engineering, Geology or similar)
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Track record of building high-performing team cultures aligned to company values
