Due to an internal promotion, our South Walker Creek asset has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer to join their dynamic successful team on a Monday to Friday (9 day fortnight).
Reporting to the Superintendent CHPP, this role is a key position in the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) responsible for the safe execution of the production plan and giving daily operational support to production supervisors and their teams. As Senior Process Engineer you will contribute to the reliability and maintenance of processing equipment, as well as production planning in the CHPP. You will also enable effective execution of fixed/mobile equipment maintenance work, lab services, plant production and short-term coal flow plan.
In this role you will also:
- Ensure compliance with the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act 1999 and all legislative requirements as an appointed person on site.
- Promote a safe culture by actively leading and driving hazard reporting and field leadership activity as well as continuous improvement.
- Integrate with all stakeholders on site to lead the effective operational performance of the CHPP
- Coordinating CHPP coal scheduling, delivery, mine planning and managing variance to plan
- Continuous improvement through the identification, development and delivery of processing improvements.
- Supporting and executing production/Processing/maintenance projects as required
- Support the Superintendent Production Processing in leading change and development in the CHPP.
To be a success, you will have:
- demonstrated record of safety leadership and the confidence to lead by example to maintain a high profile in the promotion of a safe working environment.
- strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively support and influence diverse operational teams.
- proven experience in working with processing teams and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
- high levels of self-motivation, accountability and initiative.
- proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as systems knowledge.
- experience with processing and coal planning operational systems and SAP will be highly regarded.
- minimum of 5+ years’ experience in CHPP operations as a process engineer/supervisor/coordinator or similar role will be considered favourably.
- Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Processing Engineering degree will be an additonal advantage.
