We are currently looking for a Drill and Blast Engineer based at our South Walker Creek mine reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent. You will join a team of high performing planning engineers to provide drill and blast technical support at South Walker Creek. 

As a Drill and Blast Engineer you will:

• Be responsible for the creation of drill patterns, loading and tie-in designs
• Coordinate drill and blast to ensure blast inventory is maintained to achieve mining rates in line with budget
• Monitor and reconcile drilling and blasting performance including data QA/QC, fragmentation analysis and loss and dilution from blasting
• Develop and implement continuous improvement projects and trials
• Assist with daily production planning
• Provide accurate technical analysis
• Uphold safety and contribute to activities that ensure continued compliance with environmental management

To set you up for success, we expect you will have:

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a Mining Engineering team
• Experience with relevant software including Vulcan and BlastLogic
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
