Job Description – Warehouse Supervisor (Coal Mining)

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee all warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant handling of materials in support of mining and maintenance activities. This role requires strong leadership, adherence to statutory obligations, and a proactive approach to safety and health management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse operations including receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods to support maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate logistics for consolidated deliveries and manage the return of materials, including repairable cores.
• Implement and monitor the site’s Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) in accordance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 (Qld).
• Provide effective supervision and assistance to warehouse personnel as required under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017.
• Conduct workplace inspections and record findings.
• Ensure hazard and risk controls are implemented and monitored as per SHMS requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation in SAP or other material management systems.
• Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Certificate III in Warehouse and Logistics (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience with SAP or similar systems.
• Current forklift license.
• Strong leadership and time management skills.
• Safety-focused mindset with knowledge of mining safety legislation.
• Practical site experience in a heavy industrial environment.
