We are currently seeking experienced Service Person to join our team in our Maintenance Department at South Walker Creek. This is an opportunity for a reliable, safety-focused trades support professional looking for long-term work in the Bowen Basin.

 

You will need to demonstrate sound technical knowledge and experience in equipment operation within a coal mining environment (at least two of the below): 

  • A strong commitment to Zero Harm;
  • An ability to work and communicate well in a team environment;
  • Compliance and knowledge with relevant mine site safety procedures, safe work instructions, standard operating procedures, legislation and rules. 
  • Promote and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day.
  • Positively influence the development and direction of maintenance strategies and processes to meet site requirements.
  • Refuel, service and maintain heavy mining equipment.
  • Operate and maintain the mine service truck.
  • Manage fuel supplies and maintain accurate service records, including, daily maintenance records and trade shift reporting.
  • Maintain safe work practices and support site compliance standards.

 

Qualifications

To be part of our ongoing success you will have:

  • Provide a positive focus on safety in the role
  • Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical 
  • Proven Service Person experience in a mining environment
  • RII – Service Mine Plant & Equipment
  • RIIVEH306 – Operate a Mine Service Vehicle (desirable)
  • HR Qld drivers licence (desirable)
  • Mechanical trade background or mechanical knowledge (desirable)
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach and a positive outlook to waste reduction and cost effectiveness
  • General computer skills with SAP & Microsoft office programs
  • Compliance and exceptional knowledge of mine safety procedures, regulations, safe work instructions, legislation and rules
