Our Poitrel Mine currently has an opportunity for a Mining Engineer to join the team on a 8/6 roster. As Mining Engineer you will be accountable for onsite truck and excavator design and planning functions. Working closely with stakeholders on site you will strive to deliver safe, accurate and efficient dig/dump/dozer push plans, haulage pland and schedule inputs (waste and coal quantities).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Design and deliver coal and waste plans for 6 truck and excavator fleets, associated dumps and dedicated dozer push fleet.
- Complete short term haulage analysis and planning for daily and weekly plans
- Advise on pit sequencing to minimise equipment interactions
- Identify and mtigate plan risks, minimising production disruption
- Complete field leadership activities with a focus on geotechnical and vehicle interaction risk
- Ensure short term alignment to medium term and long term schedules
To be a success you will have:
- A commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- Bachedlor of Engineering degree (Mining, Civil) or equivalent
- Experience working in a large open pit mine (preferred)
- Sound understanding of value drivers in large open pit mining operations and how these apply to planning decisions
- Familiarity with Vulcan or Deswik CAD packages
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Skill in D&B design and execution will be highly regarded.
