About the Role

Stanmore Resources is seeking a highly experienced Contracts Manager – Capital Projects to join our business in a full-time capacity, commencing immediately.

Reporting directly to the Supply & Logistics Manager, this senior role is responsible for the end-to-end commercial and contract management of our capital projects portfolio. You will act as a trusted commercial advisor, leading contract strategy, tendering, negotiation, execution and ongoing performance across complex brownfield projects.

This is a critical role driving commercial discipline, risk mitigation and value delivery across multiple high-value contracts in a fast-paced project environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Award

  • Develop and lead contracting and procurement strategies aligned to project objectives
  • Manage end-to-end tendering processes, including scope development, market engagement and evaluation frameworks
  • Lead commercial evaluations and governance approvals
  • Negotiate high-value contracts across civil, SMP, engineering and services

Contract Award & Execution

  • Oversee contract formation and execution to ensure fit-for-purpose commercial frameworks
  • Structure contracts to appropriately allocate risk and drive contractor performance

Post-Award Contract Management

  • Manage claims, contractor performance and contract administration activities
  • Lead contract variations, disputes and change management processes
  • Drive cost control and alignment with approved capital budgets
  • Manage contract close-out, including final accounts and lessons learned

Commercial Advisory

  • Provide strategic commercial advice across the full capital project lifecycle
  • Support value engineering, cost optimisation and delivery outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement in contracting frameworks and processes

About You

Mandatory Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years’ contracts management experience (essential)
  • Proven experience within capital projects and/or civil construction environments
  • Demonstrated capability managing multiple high-value contracts across the full lifecycle (pre- and post-award)

Additional Experience & Qualifications

  • Background in mining, heavy industry or infrastructure projects
  • Strong experience across civil, SMP, engineering or equipment contracts
  • Experience supporting governance and capital approval processes
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain, Law, Engineering or similar

Key Skills

  • Advanced contract negotiation and commercial structuring capability
  • Strong financial acumen and cost control experience
  • Solid understanding of contract law and procurement frameworks
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills

Systems & Tools

  • Advanced Excel capability
  • SAP experience
  • eSourcing platforms (Zycus preferred)
